But, let's talk about editions, Amazon's careless lumping of various books, descriptions and reviews on the same site, and what is actually in this particular book. This review is being posted on the site for "The Road Not Taken and Other Poems [Illustrated]", which was published in 2012 by Seedbox Classics. It has a photo on the cover of a snowy track through a birch forest. It is a Kindle book. I downloaded it in 2013 as a Kindle freebie, but as of the time of the posting of this review it is available for $. 99. This site has an "Editorial Review" which is a table of poems from something called "Poem Finder". This is not a complete or correct table. Except for "The Vanishing Red", "Snow", "The Road Not Taken", "Birches" and maybe a few others the listed poems are not in the Seedbox Classics edition listed here. Use the "Look Inside" feature to see the correct table of contents. You'll see that this version does include "Mending Wall", "After Apple-picking", and perhaps other poems that you want. (Parenthetically, (note the actual parentheses), I prefer the actual content of the book to the content listed by Poem Finder, but you might not. ) This book read well on my Kindle Touch. It was for the most part properly formatted and presented. Such typographic oddities as presented themselves did not effect readability. The "illustrations" are just a few thumbnail photos at the end. There is an active Table of Contents and an active Index, which are both bonuses. So, this is a fine selection, it works well as a Kindle book, it offers great value, and it was a happy purchase. Just be careful about what it is you're buying in order to avoid disappointment. Form “The Road Not Taken” consists of four stanzas of five lines. The rhyme scheme is ABAAB; the rhymes are strict and masculine, with the notable exception of the last line (we do not usually stress the -ence of difference). There are four stressed syllables per line, varying on an iambic tetrameter base. Commentary This has got to be among the best-known, most-often-misunderstood poems on the planet. Several generations of careless readers have turned it into a piece of Hallmark happy-graduation-son, seize-the-future puffery. Cursed with a perfect marriage of form and content, arresting phrase wrought from simple words, and resonant metaphor, it seems as if “The Road Not Taken” gets memorized without really being read. For this it has died the cliché’s un-death of trivial immortality. But you yourself can resurrect it from zombie-hood by reading it—not with imagination, even, but simply with accuracy. Of the two roads the speaker says “the passing there / Had worn them really about the same. ” In fact, both roads “that morning lay / In leaves no step had trodden black. ” Meaning: Neither of the roads is less traveled by. These are the facts; we cannot justifiably ignore the reverberations they send through the easy aphorisms of the last two stanzas. One of the attractions of the poem is its archetypal dilemma, one that we instantly recognize because each of us encounters it innumerable times, both literally and figuratively. Paths in the woods and forks in roads are ancient and deep-seated metaphors for the lifeline, its crises and decisions. Identical forks, in particular, symbolize for us the nexus of free will and fate: We are free to choose, but we do not really know beforehand what we are choosing between. Our route is, thus, determined by an accretion of choice and chance, and it is impossible to separate the two. This poem does not advise. It does not say, “When you come to a fork in the road, study the footprints and take the road less traveled by” (or even, as Yogi Berra enigmatically quipped, “When you come to a fork in the road, take it”). Frost’s focus is more complicated. First, there is no less-traveled road in this poem; it isn’t even an option. Next, the poem seems more concerned with the question of how the concrete present (yellow woods, grassy roads covered in fallen leaves) will look from a future vantage point.

Although it's odd to start a review with a history lesson, such an approach is entirely appropriate when you're dealing with a new game as archaic as  Emperor: Battle for Dune. For while the title in question is just hitting stores today, the gameplay concepts are as old as dirt. Or at least as old as the dust blanketing that closet-consigned P75 you once used to play  Command & Conquer. Those were the days, my friend. We thought they'd never end. But they have. And someone should tell the good people at Westwood. While the rest of the gaming world has moved on to bigger and better things, this formerly innovative company has simply been repeating the real-time strategy past. Their latest looks all the way back to 1992's  Dune 2  (often cited as the first RTS ever developed) for its inspiration. All of the basic concepts that fueled both that classic and the subsequent  Command & Conquer  series have been recycled again and again.  Emperor  adds a true 3D engine to the mix for the first time, but aside from that and a few other noteworthy and not-so-noteworthy tweaks, this is the same game as  Dune 2,  Command & Conquer,  Red Alert,  Tiberian Sun,  Dune 2000, and last autumn's  Red Alert 2. Swap the cornball commies and Kari "Sliders" Wuhrer's patented breasts for Sandworms and Michael "Worf" Dorn's patented glower and you'd be hard pressed to find any significant differences between the last two Westwood efforts. Emperor  certainly looks the part. The game comes dressed up in all the expected full-motion video accoutrements that Westwood has been using since it was still acceptable to do so, in the middle 1990s. Like  Red Alert, the plot is detailed in lengthy, gaudy film clips featuring a number of professional actors. Some are recognizable stars, such as the aforementioned Michael Dorn of  Star Trek  fame, while others are nobodies, but they all share the same uncanny ability to chew the scenery. Almost every scene has a few unintentionally hilarious moments, due to hammy acting, poor scripting, or a combination of the two. Everything is rendered even more ludicrous by the way that the actors address the gamer directly, breaking the fourth wall during mission briefings to inform the player that, yes, all is riding on what he or she is about to do. This isn't any more effective here than it is in the  Red Alert  games. The video sequences are so unlike the actual game that you have to make a conscious effort and remind yourself that the two are supposed to be related. Most of the time, however, you'll just sit back and gawk at how much better Michael Dorn looks without that rubber turtle on his head. Other visual aspects of the design take  Emperor  into the present, however. As noted above, this is the first Westwood game to feature a gameplay engine that works in all three dimensions. It may be a little behind the times in this regard -- particularly considering that just about every other RTS developer hopped aboard the 3D bandwagon last summer (Activision with  Dark Reign 2, Sierra with  Ground Control, SSI with  Earth 2150, etc. ) -- though the implementation here is quite good. Visual quality still isn't up to that on display in the likes of  Dark Reign 2  and  Ground Control. Units seem a little jagged in comparison to their cousins in those rival titles, and animation is also a touch stiffer. Another damaging factor when weighing the pros and cons of sheer beauty is that the camera here cannot be focused directly on an individual unit. Where you could go so far as to zoom in on the glutes of the curvaceous Psitech covert ops specialists in  Dark Reign 2, here you're stuck at a distance where it's often difficult to tell who's who, at least where infantry units are concerned. Map art is also bland. Terrain features are typically lifeless and dull. While the simple fact that most of the game takes place on the desert world of Arrakis explains this somewhat, there's still no excuse for the topography to be so uniformly blah. Each map is usually made up of narrow shelves of rock and hard-packed earth separated by seas of sand. Aside from the odd bit of abandoned wreckage, there isn't much to distinguish one area from another. This sameness remains a problem later in the campaigns, when the scene shifts to more interesting locales, such as the verdant world of Caladan and the frigid wasteland of Draconis IV. About the only difference between these worlds and Arrakis is the predominant color of the turf. If Caladan weren't green, and Draconis IV white, you wouldn't know that you were no longer in the desert. Dynamic and Intriguing Some aspects of  Emperor  are more intriguing. The plot, set immediately after the events of  Dune 2  and some 200 years before Frank Herbert's famous novel (disconcertingly called "the movie" in the press docs, I might add), details the War of the Assassins fought between the three Great Houses of Atreides, Harkonnen, and Ordos. This conflict takes place on Arrakis, the only known home of the Spice Melange, the most powerful substance in the universe. The leader of the victorious party not only will take charge of Arrakis and the spice, but he will also become Emperor of the Known Universe. So the stakes are extremely high. All three races feature lengthy playable campaigns. These of course differ in terms of plot, although there aren't as many differences between the races themselves. While the Atreides are noble warriors, the Harkonnens violent and cruel, and the Ordos rapacious aliens who use hideous biological technology, there is little to separate them tactically. Basic units have counterparts that are nearly identical in the ranks of their opponents. For example, where the Atreides boast Kindjai Infantry with pistols and rocket launchers, the Harkonnen have Troopers with missile launchers, and the Ordos field AA Troopers, also with missile launchers. This is reflected further up the ranks as well, though there are certain overall characteristics that can be taken advantage of, such as the strong Harkonnen armor and the Ordos' hit and run capabilities. About the only truly different units in the game are those used by the rather creepy Tleilaxu, a smaller house that uses flesh vats to grow Contaminators that infect opposing forces and turn them into copies of themselves, and Leeches, that fire larvae at foes. All houses share the same buildings, with the exception of gun turrets that slightly differ (the Ordos turret launches poisonous gas, the Harkonnen model shoots flame, and the Atreides version features machine guns). Where  Emperor  truly stands apart from Westwood's earlier efforts is in the design of the single-player campaigns. Instead of fighting a series of must-win battles until the final showdown, here you wage war on a dynamic map. When the game begins, Arrakis is evenly divided into sectors controlled by the three houses. From there, you decide how to proceed, which sector to attack in order to best advance the war. At the same time, you'll be forced to defend your territory against enemy invasion. This adds a much-needed jolt to the standard RTS style, though it's not quite as freeform as you might believe. For starters, your choices are generally quite limited. There are usually just two or three sectors controlled by each opposing house that can be attacked at a time (and at least two are typically off-limits due to severe storms). These often feature fairly similar enemy forces, so it's not as if these selections represent vastly different tactical plans. Also, there are certain elements of the story that seem to be set in stone, even the alliances with lesser houses and other independent groups. As an example of this, I was never able to form an alliance between the Atreides and the Tleilaxu, even though it was specifically noted in one of the cutscenes that the choice of ally would be left up to me. Even when you are given varied mission objectives, the route taken to victory is almost always the same. Just like  Red Alert, you always start off with a small group of forces and must immediately set up a base and start collecting resources (in this case, the Spice Melange) and constructing buildings and military units. Repetition is the watchword here, as you'll spend much of your time building the same structures over and over again. There are some episodes that break this trend, though they're few and far between. After leaving the campaign map, the gameplay here is very traditional and without much in the way of surprises. Sensing a Trend There are a few worthy tactical elements, though. Ally yourself with the Fremen tribesmen and you'll be able to summon mighty Sandworms to crush the opposition. The value of high ground is emphasized more here than in perhaps any other RTS in recent memory. As bases must be established on the rock that towers over the sandy seas below, you have to take advantage of this by building in the right areas and fortifying that position with long-range units such as mortars and snipers. Unfortunately, this emphasizes the relatively poor AI granted to your computer opponents, who will often assault such solid encampments from the sand below rather than flanking you in an attempt to launch an attack from a level playing field. If you work quickly and fortify your structures properly, you can expect little serious challenge from the opposition while you build a massive offensive force. About the only obstacle to victory is the sub-par pathfinding. Your units will bump into one another and stop, wander into the range of enemy gun turrets, and so on. Large-scale battles should be micro-managed for the best result, which of course gets a little annoying at times. And infantry units are so dumb that they'll often allow themselves to be crushed by oncoming vehicles that could easily have been avoided. It's nice that they put direct firing orders ahead of self-preservation, but still. Additional gaming options might provide players with further entertainment value, but again, there really isn't anything here that hasn't been seen before. Skirmish mode features some interesting ideas involving alliances, Sandworm activity, prebuilt bases, and crates with goodies inside, though there isn't a map editor or a random map generator. That alone will limit the replay value. Multiplayer is handled through the dedicated Westwood Online service. One helpful frill here is that you can go online to play a campaign cooperatively. It's good to see that, despite everything else, the designers realized the value of a cooperative mode. Good points aside,  Emperor: Battle for Dune  is a tired game based on a limited concept that was beaten to death in 1998. Dynamic campaign and true 3D engine or not, the essentials of gameplay still come down to the very same basics that have dominated such titles for going on a decade now. Even though Westwood has thrown in everything but the kitchen sink to make this arguably the ultimate traditional RTS, it's still hard to contemplate playing the actual game without yawning. As someone with no experience with the original movies, I went with a friend to see it. I was excited because I liked the style of the trailer and obviously it's my first Grudge movie.
. it was not. good.
My main complaint with the movie is there is really no plot. We're immediately introduced to the idea that the "curse" follows whoever encounters it and doesn't leave them. Every person who encounters it brutally murders their family or close ones before killing themselves. We jump from 2004 to 2006 constantly throughout the movie, almost to the point that you may forget about the time jumps and it's overall pointless, unless it's to show time will never disrupt the curse? And then the child of the main character is creepily bland. This may have been intentional for a scene later in the movie where the main character suddenly decides the way to kill the Grudge is to set the house on fire? The Grudge appears as her son and asks her to stop because he is scared, and the mom realizes it's not him when she asks him what they do when they get scared (they close their eyes and count to five, which is established earlier in the movie. This scene was very rushed, nothing led up to it, no "research" or getting help from another person who dealt with it and somehow survived. I did like this part, however because the sudden change in direction and the false idea that fire was the Grudge's demise was suspicious but unpredictable to some of the people in the audience when the movie ends with the mom being taken. I think there were a lot of unanswered questions, whether you have knowledge of the prior movies or not. There were things missing that may have helped the pace of the movie that seemed to drag on at times. I personally did not enjoy it and think there was a lot of lost potential. Plus, the kid was pretty creepy to the point the audience would laugh whenever he spoke.

He is the type of person that looks at a person and sees them. Yes we did it was very interesting to me. I used to study this type of activism and I am quite familiar with this story and its character.
This movie was trying to prostrate as it was positively event when the real story was nothing what that movie was made out to be. There is a lot of stories in this movie that needs to addressing to. I'll leave a few examples in here:
First of off, this lady was never had a romance with this Civil Rights activist.
Secondly, the FBI was not harassing her all because of hers political, nor because of hers involvement with Civil Rights, except it was because of her being involvement with a racist black group that was attempting to rob a several business and motivate to kill the enforcement.
Lastly, this lady was arrested for treason, publicity destruction, hatred, and harassing the soldiers whose return from Vietnam.
This movie needs to re-fix with fact-checking, instead of doing it to supports the propaganda.
I'll give it a 10 star once they fix it, but I know they won't.

If you're a fan of the books you'll enjoy every bit of this movie. It made me cry, laugh and despair in the most fairy-like sense. I found Greta's use of contrasting light to represent the past and the present very useful in keeping track of the story (bright and colourful when reminiscing about the girl's childhood but dim and greyish as they step into adulthood. You can sense Alcott's spirit throughout the film, which does a great job at honouring her life and what she believed in, when possible. I whole-heartedly recommend it. It's a fresh take on a classic.

That's the setup for "Come to Daddy, " a film that keeps changing direction so often that it's almost a miracle the filmmakers don't give us tonal and narrative whiplash. Instead, screenwriter Toby Harvard and director Ant Timpson (making his feature debut) have crafted a film that's as clever as it is strange. It's pretty strange, especially after the floor almost literally drops from beneath Norval, revealing how much of a lie his current situation is and, indeed, his entire life has been. Advertisement Before that moment, though, we follow Norval as he arrives at a remote location via bus, walks through the woods, and finds his absentee father's beach-side home. His father drew him a map so that Norval could find his way. This isn't just a man who has left his family behind. He seems determined to leave the entire world behind. After some hesitation, Norval knocks on the door. After a long pause, Gordon ( Stephen McHattie) answers it. There's the quick introduction, which seems odd under the circumstances, although we—and Norval, for that matter—easily can dismiss that on account of the three-decade separation. Norval doesn't remember what his father looked like, and the father surely won't recognize his son, especially if his sudden departure and choice of home are any indication of how well Gordon has kept up with his family in the intervening decades. The two men hug—a good start and, well, the only good moment between these two characters for the rest of the story. Over the next couple of days, the two men never connect. Norval tells his story, how he has had problems with alcohol dependence, almost committed suicide, and currently lives with his mother in her fancy Beverly Hills home. Things seems to be working out now, though. He has stopped drinking, and he's something of a big deal in the music industry. He even has a gold cellphone designed by a famous singer—one of only 20 in the whole world. Gordon, meanwhile, hears about his son's alcohol problem, and he responds by making a show of a long pour from a wine bottle at dinner—moaning in delight as he takes a big sip from his glass. He makes a big game out of calling Norval's bluff when the son says he knows Elton John. Gordon doesn't just have to call out his son's lies. He has to embarrass his own kid to make some kind of point. As for that cellphone, it ends up in the water, and Gordon jokes that, now, there are only 19 of them in the whole world. Some other weird things happen, too. Gordon is often on the phone at night, whispering about some kind of deal with an unknown caller. When father and son agree to go for a swim, Gordon stays behind, and while floating in the ocean, Norval is startled by a rock that comes quite close to hitting his head. The son chalks up all of this to the fact that Gordon is an alcoholic, who was probably drunk when he wrote the letter and now resents the presence of a son with whom he wants nothing to do. Even then, though, something is seriously off about this reunion. The verbal conflicts suddenly turn physical in one key moment, and at this point in describing the characters and the plot, there is really nothing to do but to stop. Describing more would be unfair, because Harvard has almost nothing but surprises left in his narrative arsenal. Here's what can be said: The film takes this father-son dynamic to increasing extremes, and the rest of the plot mirrors that snowball-down-a-hill effect. The house has a couple of secrets to discover, including some hidden mementos that at first suggest the father whom Norval meets was a very different man at some point in the long-ago or very recent past, as well as a hatch in the floor in the middle of the living room. Norval's visit becomes even less amiable, which would have seemed impossible given Gordon's descent from passive-aggressive resentment to flat-out homicidal rage. The sudden appearance of a group of goons from not-so-dear, old dad's past, though, can force that kind of re-evaluation on how bad a situation can become. The vital thing is that Harvard's screenplay never cheats. There's a twisted sense of logic to everything that unfolds (and sometimes, such as Norval's extra-effort but unnecessary attempts to free someone bound in chains, a warped humor within that twisted logic). There are fights (including one that showcases how tough the cardboard rolls holding plastic wrap really are) and plenty of instances of sneaking around, outside the house and at a nearby motel, where Norval has to maneuver quietly past some people sleeping peacefully after an orgy. Timpson stages each of these scenes with straightforward efficiency. He's smart enough to know both that the humor comes from the assorted scenarios, without any extraneous directorial playfulness, and that there's still tension to be mined in even the most absurd situations. The mixture of demented humor and thrills works in "Come to Daddy"—not only because each complication logically follows from a previously defined complication or scenario, but also because there is sincere pain, longing, and desperation at the heart of Norval's situation. "Come to Daddy" is the directorial debut of celebrated producer Ant Timpson (Turbo Kid, Deathgasm. The initial idea came from Timpson and then was masterfully written by Toby Harvard (The Greasy Strangler. I'm obsessed with the dialogue in the film. Part of the beauty of "Come to Daddy" is that it eases effortlessly between genres. It is intensely macabre, cartoonishly gory, but it's also insanely hilarious and sweetly emotional and tender. "Come to Daddy" is about a man in his thirties named Norval (Elijah Wood) who goes to see his long-lost father Gordon (Stephen McHattie) in his remote home. That's really all you should know about the plot. Within the beautiful insanity & mania of "Come to Daddy, the core of this screwed up dynamic between Norval and Gordon is actually very relatable and authentic. I cannot imagine anyone but Elijah Wood playing Norval. There is something in his gaze that perfectly captures the nuances of the character, and Stephen McHattie is just so good as his father, Gordon. Michael Smiley appears in the film almost unrecognizable and is just incredible.
I am so tempted to write specifics on scenes and lines and why they resonate so much, but this film is way too magical to spoil. There's so much mediocrity in film, music, when you see the horror/family-drama/black comedy film of your dreams, it's special. Thank you, Ant and Toby, for expanding the ranges of horror. "Come to Daddy" is genius and I genuinely hope both of them keep on creating for years and years and years on end.

Top Gun: Are 60 year olds allowed to fly planes for the military. Come to daddy song. It's difficult to break it down. There's a pretty weak story with a couple of predictable twists and not a lot happens really. However, it'd an intriguing watch. I found myself drawn in by the characters and their interaction's, it seems that every character besides Gladys is written as if they are in a cartoon. This generated a meted bag of funny and lackluster moments but it kept me watching.

I think a good comparison to this films makeup would be "In Bruges" the comedy is a little odd-ball and the characters are strangle compelling, this movie is just not quite as good.
A big part of me thinks that this movie will age better than this initial viewing, so I look forward to watching it again somewhere down the line.
